Bookmark Share ("we", "our") explains here what data the website and Chrome extension handle when you use the service.
What we collect
- Account information from Google sign-in: email address, display name, and profile picture URL.
- Profile data you provide: username, bio, and avatar.
- Bookmark collections you choose to share: folder titles, link URLs, descriptions, tags, and visibility settings.
- Usage data: import counts, likes, comments, and notifications related to your activity on the service.
Chrome extension
- The extension reads Chrome bookmark folders only when you select a folder to share or import a collection.
- We do not scan or upload your entire bookmark tree without your action.
- A login session is stored locally in Chrome storage so you stay signed in between popup opens.
How we use data
- To authenticate you and associate collections with your profile.
- To display public, unlisted, or private collections according to your visibility choice.
- To operate search, rankings, social features (likes, comments, notifications), and import statistics.
- We do not sell your personal data.
Third-party services
- Google OAuth is used for sign-in. Google's privacy policy applies to authentication.
- Supabase hosts our database and authentication infrastructure.
- Hosting providers (e.g. Render) run the web application.
Data retention and deletion
- Collections and profile data remain until you delete them or delete your account.
- You can edit or remove collections you own from the website.
- To request account deletion, contact us at the email below.
