Bookmark Share ("we", "our") explains here what data the website and Chrome extension handle when you use the service.

What we collect

  • Account information from Google sign-in: email address, display name, and profile picture URL.
  • Profile data you provide: username, bio, and avatar.
  • Bookmark collections you choose to share: folder titles, link URLs, descriptions, tags, and visibility settings.
  • Usage data: import counts, likes, comments, and notifications related to your activity on the service.

Chrome extension

  • The extension reads Chrome bookmark folders only when you select a folder to share or import a collection.
  • We do not scan or upload your entire bookmark tree without your action.
  • A login session is stored locally in Chrome storage so you stay signed in between popup opens.

How we use data

  • To authenticate you and associate collections with your profile.
  • To display public, unlisted, or private collections according to your visibility choice.
  • To operate search, rankings, social features (likes, comments, notifications), and import statistics.
  • We do not sell your personal data.

Third-party services

  • Google OAuth is used for sign-in. Google's privacy policy applies to authentication.
  • Supabase hosts our database and authentication infrastructure.
  • Hosting providers (e.g. Render) run the web application.

Data retention and deletion

  • Collections and profile data remain until you delete them or delete your account.
